What do you guys think about these three blade broadheads? http://www.3riversarchery.com/Arrows+%2 … oduct.html
Have never used them, but they have excellent reviews, and I base a lot of my purchases on the reviews.
Okay, this shot was done with a very high energy Mathews and not a trad bow. However, it really shows how a hunt should be with a combination of perfect placement, very sharp & wide diameter broadhead and kinetic energy.
The triangular broadheads look like Avar arrowheads.

i personally like 2 blades more, but im strange, i also only use 2 feathers. :-)

WarBow, that is the most devastating bow shot I haver seen. The hog even went to his knees on impact. WOW.
I have always used a two blade broadhead, but I am thinking of giving a three blade one a try. If I do I will let you know.
The video you posted really shows what a well tuned arrow will do to game. One good humane kill.
Yes, it was a humane kill. The bow has high-energy cams and the placement was perfect. The arrow probably went through lung, heart and lung in that order.
The only way to make that hunt even more humane is through the use of firearm.

Has any one tried an atom broadhead with their ktb or hwarang?

Here in NSW (New South Wales) in Australia its mostly feral animals and introduced deer(all non native) that you can go after (can't hunt native animals like roos or wombats)

Though kangaroo is good eating and found in most supermarkets (higher in iron, almost no fat and higher protein than beef). Some other states have a feral camel problem and allow camel hunting. Same with water buffalo.
Here is an alternative to the Silverflame broadheads: http://www.winys-archery.com/Silent_Strike_v3e.pdf vs. http://www.german-kinetics.com/products … llery.html

They look good enough, but I can't figure out where to buy them... their website seems like it is still under construction...
Although I'd be a little leery shooting korean style with broadheads that are sharpened on the trailing edge...

Wow... that critter is right up there in moose territory. Bigger than the moose my brother in law took this season. I didn't realize they got that big...
Very encouraging, and a very simple setup, too.
I'm not sure how an eland compares to a moose as far as bone density, etc, but I'd be willing to bet they're pretty similar.
Thanks for the link Warbow!
I hope nobody minds me reviving this thread...
After some occasional practice sessions with borrowed recurve (25 lbs) and compound (55 lbs) bows, I'm trying to decide whether to buy a compound bow or Hwarang bow for hunting. I'm interested in hunting, deer, pig, turkey, and rabbit. Before I do that, I'd like to hear what technique people use for hunting.
Do you use the three-finger draw or thumb ring draw? Do you rest the arrow on the draw hand side (traditional) or hold hand side (Western)? Do you draw to the cheek (Western) or further back (traditional)?
I have no trouble holding the 55 lb compound bow at full draw (29 inch with three-finger western hold), but getting it past its peak takes some effort.
I had hoped to hunt with my korean bow last fall but it never worked out. This year should be a different story as I have holidays during how season. I will be using my 50lb bow with a thumb ring and any luck will bring me home an elk?
